June 2026 - Online videos Vs Face to face lessons

There has never been a better time to learn to sing. With thousands of free videos online, you can find warm-ups, breathing exercises, vocal technique tips, and even full practice routines at the touch of a button.

These resources can be fantastic. They can help you build consistency, learn new concepts, and give you the confidence to start exploring your voice.

But there’s one thing a video can never do: listen.

Imagine following a gym workout online. You’ll probably get fitter and stronger. But if your technique is slightly off, nobody is there to correct it. Over time, that small issue can limit your progress or even lead to injury.

Singing works in exactly the same way.

A video doesn’t know if you’re holding tension in your jaw, raising your shoulders when you breathe, or pushing too much weight through your voice. It can’t adapt the exercise to your unique instrument or answer the question you’ve been struggling with all week.

A singing lesson is different because it’s tailored to you. An experienced teacher can hear what you’re doing, identify what’s helping or hindering your progress, and guide you towards healthier, more efficient singing.

So by all means use the incredible resources available online—they’re a brilliant way to get started and stay motivated. Just remember that real progress often happens when someone is listening and helping you make those small adjustments that make a big difference, even once a month will make a huge difference!

Your voice is unique. It deserves feedback that’s unique too.
